U.S. Senate Subcommittee Assignments for the 119th Congress

WASHINGTON – According to the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, U.S. Senators Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) and Mike Lee (R-Utah), Ranking Member and Chairman of the committee, have announced the subcommittee assignments for the 119th Congress, following unanimous approval during a committee business meeting. Senator Heinrich highlighted the committee’s focus on addressing energy costs, job creation, public land management, and climate-related challenges, emphasizing the impact of its work on communities across the country. Senator Lee underscored the importance of bipartisan collaboration in advancing policies that support American communities and promote effective energy and natural resource management.

The Subcommittee on Energy will be chaired by Senator Dave McCormick, with Senator Ruben Gallego serving as Ranking Member. Other members include Senators John Barrasso, James Risch, Tom Cotton, Jim Justice, Bill Cassidy, Cindy Hyde-Smith, John Hoeven, Ron Wyden, Mazie K. Hirono, Angus S. King, Jr., Catherine Cortez Masto, John W. Hickenlooper, and Alex Padilla.  

Senator Steve Daines will chair the Subcommittee on National Parks, with Senator Angus S. King, Jr. as Ranking Member. Additional members include Senators John Barrasso, Bill Cassidy, Lisa Murkowski, Mazie K. Hirono, and Ruben Gallego.  

The Subcommittee on Public Lands, Forests, and Mining will be led by Senator John Barrasso as Chair and Senator Catherine Cortez Masto as Ranking Member. Senator John Hoeven will chair the Subcommittee on Water and Power, with Senator Ron Wyden serving as Ranking Member.
